This website was created to chronicle the fast ever changing lives of myself and my fatass cat Rump, after our crazy move from Lexington, Ky to sunny Naples on route to my home now here in Clearwater, Florida. In all honesty in the past, Rump and I have had a tendency to find ourselves in some sticky situations sometimes and have decided to share our experiences and insights to our friends, loving family, and the all knowing internet just for shits and giggles. Enjoy!

Our Own Devices

In the past things didn't change as fast as they do today. Today there is always something brand new, exciting, and different but back then you took what you could get and were damn happy about it too. Just talk to a few of the different generations, and ask them about the way they enjoyed listening to their music. Some recall that old timey radio hour, others preferred to jam to vinyl, some rocked out in their rides with the 8-track blaring.
Me? I remember tape cassettes. You know, playing in the pool with my sister singing along to "New Kids on the Block" and "Boyz II Men" Having to spend an hour in front of my Boombox just to tape that new cool song by "MC Hammer" only to have in ruined by some slick voiced DJ trying to sell more ad time. Of course I moved on with the rest of the world to the benefits of CDs. (a major improvement for sure) And I continue to add to and listen to my Cd collection regularly (especially after the awesome CD-R revolution)
But I'm only 26 yrs old (hardly even an adult, god knows I don't act like one) but already kids these days already have their own new means of getting music, via iTunes and impossible tiny MP3 players. These kids they just don't know how good they have it, do they? So in that vain, today for HumpDay we're gathered here to honor the Tape. Well done, sir, you served us well. Rest in Peace.
